CNN Fear & Greed Index · Official Source

Source and rights: CNN Business owns its published index presentation. Stockybara does not copy, store, scrape or republish CNN scores, history, illustrations or its internal API output. No automatic or fabricated score is displayed. This source link is not an official CNN embed, a commercial data license or a sponsorship. Scores and seven sub-indicators must be viewed on CNN's site. Research context only; sentiment is not a trading signal.
Definitions & limitations
- CPI and Core CPI YoY: computed from the respective unadjusted CPI indexes using the same calendar month 12 months earlier. A missing prior month yields N/A rather than an imputed value.
- Employment and wages: derived from official seasonally adjusted BLS series. Payroll changes are in thousands of jobs; JOLTS openings are in millions. Observations and revisions are dated by reference month, not publication time.
- Rate spreads: subtract same-day U.S. Treasury nominal par yields, multiply percentage-point differences by 100 to obtain basis points.
- 10Y inflation compensation: same-day nominal par yield minus Treasury 10-year TIPS real par yield, in percentage points. This is only an approximation of inflation compensation; inflation risk premiums, liquidity and other factors matter. It is not a pure market prediction of CPI inflation.
- Data freshness: BLS releases generally monthly and may be revised; Treasury yields are daily for business days. Indicators do not have a common observation date, and scheduled refreshes can be delayed.
Equity valuation: Stockybara already provides a Fundamentals section. We are not supplying S&P 500 forward P/E, forward EPS, earnings revisions or other consensus metrics from Yardeni, LSEG, FactSet or similar vendors without permission for public commercial redistribution. No dummy consensus numbers are shown.
