A benchmark's closing level reflects its local exchange's last session. Do not compare absolute index levels across currencies/regions, or assume a closed index is moving when its futures trade overnight.

Benchmark index points. Price-return indices and total-return indices are different series.

Index methodology: Some benchmarks are price indices, others include reinvested dividends, or differ by exchange. These displays are provider-hosted reference index levels, not total returns, ETF prices or live market-data downloads. Exchange licenses and quote delays apply.

World Stock Index Futures

Continuous futures, indicated by 1!, are stitched across contract expiries. They are not the same instrument as a cash index or a particular deliverable futures contract.

E-mini S&P 500 · CME

Continuous E-mini S&P 500 futures; points, not the cash S&P 500 index.

Cash index: benchmark value, typically updated during its local stock-market session Futures: derivatives that may trade for longer hours; China, Korea, Brazil and Australia have their own local exchange sessions Futures basis: funding, dividends, expiry and market conditions mean futures need not equal spot index levels
Continuous futures and licensing: The 1! notation represents provider-stitched nearby contracts. Rollovers, back-adjustment choices, trading halts, expiry and quote permissions can affect displayed returns. Spot-versus-futures differences are not automatically arbitrage. Index futures are leveraged derivatives; data may be delayed or exchange-restricted. TradingView quotes stay inside TradingView widgets and are not used for Stockybara price feeds, portfolio valuations or orders.

Volatility · VIX, VIX Futures & MOVE

Equity-option implied volatility, VIX futures, and Treasury interest-rate option volatility. These are different financial instruments; their levels are not directly comparable.

VIX and futures · provider-hosted quotes

VIX is an index of expected equity volatility; VX1!/VX2! are continuous VIX futures. MOVE is ICE's U.S. Treasury-market interest-rate volatility index.

Quotes come only from TradingView's original embedded widget. They may be delayed, unavailable or restricted in external embeds, especially ICE:MOVE. We never generate replacement prices.

How to read these indicators

VIX (CBOE:VIX): about 30-day expected S&P 500 equity volatility derived from index options. VIX itself is not directly tradable. VX1! / VX2!: first- and second-nearby continuous VIX futures. Contracts roll; prices can differ materially from VIX spot. Futures basis is not automatically arbitrage. MOVE (ICE:MOVE): ICE's index of U.S. interest-rate volatility inferred from options. Its points cannot be directly compared with VIX index points.
Data rights: Cboe owns VIX/VX rights and ICE owns the MOVE index. External TradingView widgets remain entirely provider-controlled, retaining their attribution. No scraping, caching, republishing, calculations based on extracted widget values or additional paid API. The four-factor Stockybara Risk Appetite Index remains unchanged and excludes VIX and MOVE.

Interactive volatility chart

VIX · S&P 500 implied volatility

Cboe VIX is a 30-day equity option-implied volatility index, not an executable trading price.

If a chart displays “only available on TradingView,” embedding is not permitted for that symbol. Use the original source link above; the site does not circumvent restricted displays.

Precious Metals · Spot & Futures

Gold and silver spot reference quotes are different instruments from exchange-listed continuous futures. All prices remain inside TradingView widgets.

Gold & silver spot · XAU/USD, XAG/USD

Indicative OANDA over-the-counter precious-metal quotes, USD per troy ounce; not a centralized physical bullion transaction price.

Exchange precious-metal futures

First continuous contracts (1!) for gold, silver, platinum and palladium. USD per troy ounce; actual expiring futures differ.

Gold futures (COMEX)

Continuous gold futures · USD per troy ounce. Market data and history supplied by TradingView.

Spot ≠ futures: XAU/USD and XAG/USD are provider-specific indicative spot prices. GC1!/SI1!/PL1!/PA1! represent stitched front-month futures series, whose values depend on contract months and rollover conventions. Futures involve margin and expiry, and quotes may be delayed or restricted.

Commodity Futures

Continuous futures for energy, industrial metals, grains and soft commodities. These are not spot prices, ETF prices, or a trading/execution feed.

Energy futures

WTI and Brent crude quoted in USD/barrel; Henry Hub natural gas in USD/MMBtu.

Industrial metals · Copper

COMEX high-grade copper continuous futures, quoted USD per pound; not LME cash copper.

Agricultural futures · Grains & oilseeds

CBOT corn, wheat and soybeans in U.S. cents/bushel; soybean meal in USD/short ton. Grain tick displays may use fractional notation.

Soft commodities · Coffee, sugar, cocoa

ICE U.S. coffee and sugar in U.S. cents/pound; cocoa in USD/metric ton.

WTI crude oil futures (NYMEX)

WTI crude continuous futures · USD/barrel; chart is provider-hosted.

Metals: gold, silver, platinum, palladium USD/troy oz; copper USD/lb Energy: crude oil USD/barrel; natural gas USD/MMBtu Agriculture: grains US cents/bushel; coffee and sugar US cents/lb; cocoa USD/metric ton
Important contract mechanics: Instruments ending in 1! are provider-built continuous futures series, not a single deliverable contract. Contract rollovers, back-adjustments, contract-month differences, gaps, seasonal effects and expiration can change displayed prices and returns. Viewing a continuous chart does not mean an investor could buy it at the shown price. Market data can be delayed, exchange-restricted or unavailable.
